Ten Reasons Love Makeup Should Be on Your Radar

When it comes to make up stockists, there's a lot out there. Let's make no mistake in that. You can buy make up from corner shops these days, and while you're at the supermarket too. There's no shortage of places to pick up a new product or two. So in order for specialist and dedicated stockists to stand out, they have to really up their game. As a beauty blogger who is OBSESSED with make up, I'm forever finding and searching out new places to buy my favourite brands. I like to shop about, what can I say! And sometimes, just sometimes I stumble upon an absolute gem. The recent of which is Love Makeup.

Creating My Own Nudestix Pick A Palette

When it comes to Nudestix, they have a soft place in my heart. Before they got BIG here in the UK, I'd already been a loyal user of their pencils for years - because I picked some up from the States and never looked back. So now I see their counter in Harvey Nichols, and how loved they're becoming in the UK, I'm even happier that they're getting the recognition they deserve here too. And plus, it makes it so much easier to add to my Nudestix collection now too!

Laura Lee Nudie Patootie Full Review & Swatches

A palette that recently caught my magpie eye for makeup, was the Laura Lee Nudie Patootie. I'll be honest, I didn't NEED another nude palette. In fact, far from it - I have so many that I barely use the ones I have. So buying another was something that wasn't even on my radar...However when I saw the picture of the colours, I just melted into a pile of make-up loving blubber. There's no denying Nudie Patootie is a stunning looking palette. But I know a lot of people have been on the fence about it, so I wanted to write up my review to help you decide whether to make the splurge or save your pennies...

Clarins Summer 2018 Collection

When it comes to seasonal make up, there's few brands who nail a summer launch like Clarins do. Every year I find myself getting just that little bit excited ahead of the summer because I know whatever they have in store for us, will be wonderful. And the Clarins Summer 2018 Collection did not disappoint.

Getting The Summer Glow Using The New Bare Minerals Crystalline Glow Collection

If there was one thing I wasn't expecting on a dreary Friday afternoon, it was a gorgeous pink box to be delivered. Anything in a pink box instantly makes me happy because hey, this girl loves pink - have you seen my Instagram feed?! Anyway, upon opening it, the excitement got real. The lovely folks at Bare Minerals had released a rose gold themed, limited edition collection called Crystalline Glow and it is everything I love about make up. And as a girly-girl anything with a rose gold focus wins my heart quickly.

Four Reasons You Need The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette

When it comes to my seriously loved brands, Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of them. My collection has grown massively recently and that's all thanks to Cult Beauty who are stocking a massive amount of their goodies now - and I'm a sucker for a Cult Beauty haul! Most recently we all went gooey-eyed over the seriously gorgeous looking Soft Glam palette. The second I saw it, there was no doubt in my mind that I'd be adding it to my collection, and it hasn't disappointed at all.

Too Faced White Peach Palette

I spend a lot of time talking about Too Faced - they're one of my all time favourite brands and I have been head over heels with their Peach ranges over the last year. First there was the Sweet Peach collection, then came Peaches and Cream, which if I'm totally honest, blew my mind. It exceeded all my expectations and became not just one of my favourite ever Too Faced ranges, but one of my all time favourite ranges, ever. There's something that gets me about a whole themed collection, and Too Faced don't do things by half, so when I saw it, I loved it and now have pretty much the entire range in my TF Collection.

Colourpop My Little Pony Palette: Real vs FAKE!

I've wanted to write one of these posts for SUCH a long time, and now that I have, I can see them becoming a regular thing on Lady Writes. Getting this post together has felt like a little project and I've really enjoyed it actually - just call me a make-up detective! I should start by saying that I've never used fake make-up products. Nor would I, and I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone does. When you do your research into the types of things that end up going into fake make-up...well it's enough to make you feel ill. Seeing as fake make-up is created without any regulations, no guidelines and no real need to be created with care, products on the black market are likely to cause rashes and reactions - and worse. So it's not something I'd ever recommend wearing as an actual product.

Five To Try From Cover FX

When it comes to make-up, one of those brands that always catches the eye is Cover FX. Their Custom Enhancer Drops have become a cult favourite for providing highlight goodness of the Gods and I have been very much enjoying trying these and some of their other goodies recently.

Zoeva Basic Moment Collection

I wanted to find a really sassy and eye-catching title for this blog post, but quite frankly the products themselves do all the talking, don't they? One look at the Zoeva Basic Moment Collection and I fell in love with it because it's just so endearing to look it. It's one of those collections that's been catching the eye of many a make-up lover. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's probably my favourite collection from Zoeva thus far.

5 Feel Good Beauty Products For Right Now

When it comes to spring, I like to overhaul my make-up and beauty regime. But this year seems to have been lacking in...actual spring. The constant rain, grey skies and cooler weather have meant most of us have been stuck wearing our coats and boots longer than usual and I for one have stuck to my autumn/winter make-up palette more, with warm, dark toned eye looks and deeper lipsticks. However it's sunny outside today, so I'm taking all the spring vibes I can get, and using it as an excuse to talk about 5 feel good beauty products for right now - because if we can't rely on the weather as a pick-me-up right now, we can always rely on our beauty products!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection

Since Too Faced launched their Sweet Peach palette last year I've been hooked. I missed out on the palette first time round - unsurprisingly because it sold out in super fast time. Everyone thought that was it - one of their limited edition palettes, never to be seen again for those of us to slow to get in on the action at the time...But we were wrong. Praise the make-up Gods! When Jerrod Blandino (co-founder of Too Faced) announced that the Sweet Peach Palette was not only coming back, but there was going to be a whole peach themed collection...well, I was more than in my happy place. And I was determined not to miss out on anything this time.

When Bloggers Do Beauty - Pixi By Petra Spring 17 Collection

I absolutely love it when bloggers show the world just how talented and successful we can be. I love it when bloggers are given the opportunity to show that sometimes we're more than just Instagram loving, lipstick hoarding girls with nothing better to do. Which is why I absolutely love it, and try to support it as much as possible when bloggers bring out their own product ranges. And the new Pixi By Petra Spring 2017 Collection is an absolutely stunning selection of products that are perfect for the season. And that showcase some of the best the blogasphere has to offer.

Clarins New Face Contour Palette - The Low Down

As you all know I'm a big fan of contouring. In fact, I've got powders, creams and palettes galore offering different coverage levels and abilities. Mostly because I dislike how round my face shape is, and good contouring means I can create shadows that stop me feeling like it's quite so circular. The palette I've been using recently is the brand new Clarins Face Contour Palette and I've got all the details and the low down on what to expect..

Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette

This year has been the year of the eyeshadow palettes. Brands have absolutely knocked it out of the park when it comes to their eyeshadow palettes this year, and I for one am loving it! Eyeshadow palettes are probably my favourite piece of make-up. Bar none. I love them. All. I love them all. So this year has seen my collection grow multiple times over with the arrival of some seriously outstanding palettes. One of which is the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette.

Smashbox Favourites - L.A Lights Blush & Highlight Palette and Be Legendary Lipstick

I've been a big fan of Smashbox since I tried their products nearly ten years ago after a visit to the States. They're one of those brands who's products never disappoint and they always seem to be introducing innovative must-have's that I for one can't resist. Their primers and their Photo Finish products have inspired lesser brands to try and create dupes - but these are still by far the best. They also pull out all the stops with regards to quality - I feel like a make-up pro when I use their products. So to share in my current Smashbox adoration, I wanted to tell you guys about the two products I'm loving most at the moment...

Ellie Goulding For M.A.C

Once upon a time, a blogger named Lady Writes was happily sat working away when an email landed in her inbox.

It was an email that bought great joy to her heart. But sorrow to her bank account.

The email was titled 'The Ellie Goulding Collection: M.A.C'.

And just like that, the happy blogger had spent her Christmas commission within ten minutes...
